Academically, I was formally trained as a conservation biologist, graduating in 2009 from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Conservation Biology with Summa Cum Laude honors.  During my time at ASU, I developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors (ref. John Muir).  Under the auspice of the university and guidance of field-biologist David E. Brown, I was a member of expeditions to various locations in Arizona for the purpose of collecting specimens and data for ongoing research in regional flora and fauna.

Notable Expeditions & Field Work for AZ Fish & Game:

  • Aravaipa Canyon (October 24, 2008): recording changes of species and frequencies of fish population through the 11-mile canyon river for AZ Fish & Game data bank

  • Picacho Peak (November 14, 2008): recording frequency of raptor species for the AZ Fish & Game data bank
